What to expect
Gears of War: E-Day is the next major entry in the iconic Xbox shooter franchise — a prequel set fourteen years before the original game, on the very first day the Locust Horde burst from beneath Sera's surface.
The Coalition is building the campaign in Unreal Engine 5, promising the most cinematic and terrifying Gears story yet. Players step into the boots of a younger Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the desperate, chaotic hours of Emergence Day, before the COG's countermeasures, the Hammer of Dawn and Delta Squad's legend took shape.
E-Day arrives on 6 October 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, day one on Game Pass, and is expected to lean harder into survival-horror tension than recent entries.
